This Task Group works with the leadership of the NHS Clinical Commissioning Group South West to ensure that policies and service design are sensitive to cultural diversity. We also work to heighten the awareness of different cultural perceptions of pertinent health-related issues. In the past we have done so with issues such as coronavirus, vaccine uptake, mental health, and the use of porcine-derived heparin in hospitals to name a few projects. Our aim is to continue highlighting key issues that face Muslim communities through the work we do.
The Health Task Group led the way during the coronavirus pandemic working with the authorities to spread key messages on staying safe as well as support during lockdowns. These were multilingual and had international reach at a time when they were most needed. |

When a muslim baby dies
We have worked hard with the Bristol, North Somerset and South Glouctershire Integrated Care Board (ICB) to create a leaflet which gives advice and contact details for people who can help, in the sad event that a Muslim baby passes away.
